ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Capital Police have announced an initiative to address traffic management issues, including a crackdown on traffic law violators, following a meeting led by Muhammad Haroon Joya, Director General Safe City and Deputy Inspector General of Traffic.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meeting was attended by key figures such as Chief Traffic Officer Muhammad Sarfraz Virk, the Safe City IT team, and senior officers. The agenda focused on improving traffic flow around cattle markets, resolving parking issues at public and tourist locations, and enhancing facilities for citizens on the roads of the federal capital.

Further directives were issued to the education team to conduct lectures in educational institutions across Islamabad and to broadcast regular traffic updates and awareness messages on FM 92.4. The meeting underscored the role of Islamabad Police, supported by Safe City cameras, in maintaining an efficient traffic system.

Citizens were reminded to utilize the traffic helpline 1915 and emergency helpline Pucar-15 for guidance or in case of traffic emergencies.
