Karachi: The Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), a key component of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference in Jammu and Kashmir, has voiced its strong condemnation of the recent escalation of state-sponsored violence in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). This statement follows a series of civilian casualties in the region.
According to the Kashmir Media Service, Advocate Arshad Iqbal, the spokesman for the DFP, in a statement from Srinagar, specifically referred to the killing of civilians by Indian troops in areas like Baramulla, Kulgam, and Rajouri. Iqbal criticized the Indian government for transforming the occupied territory into what he described as a “slaughter house,” where civilians are reportedly killed in fabricated encounters.
Iqbal accused the Indian military of exceeding all bounds of cruelty in Kashmir, enabled by a legal framework that grants them extensive immunity. He emphasized that the ongoing violence and bloodshed by Indian troops in Kashmir should be a matter of grave concern to the international community.
The statement from the DFP called for the global community to take responsibility and hold the Indian government accountable for what it describes as war crimes committed by Indian forces in the disputed territory.
