Deputy Prime Minister Reviews Progress on Fuel Subsidy Scheme

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting to review the Fuel Subsidy Scheme aimed at alleviating the impact of rising fuel prices on public transport operators, motorcycle owners, and farmers.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting in Islamabad focused on the scheme’s implementation, emphasizing transparency, accountability, and coordination with provincial governments. The officials reported that four tranches of subsidies have been disbursed over the past two months on a biweekly schedule.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the progress and instructed that coordination and accountability measures be maintained to ensure the subsidies reach the intended beneficiaries efficiently. The meeting concluded with a decision to disburse the 5th and 6th tranches within the month as part of the scheme’s continued rollout.
