LONDON: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with British National Security Adviser Jonathan Powell in London during his official visit to the United Kingdom. The meeting focused on significant regional and international security issues, including the situations in South Asia, the Middle East, and Afghanistan.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two officials reviewed the ongoing cooperation between Pakistan and the UK in counterterrorism and security. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized Pakistan’s role in promoting regional peace and highlighted its diplomatic efforts towards dialogue and de-escalation in conflict areas.
Both parties agreed to sustain close consultations on regional security developments and to enhance cooperation in areas such as counter-terrorism and intelligence sharing. The discussions underscored a mutual interest in strengthening security ties between Pakistan and the UK.
