Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar of Pakistan and Foreign Minister of Turkiye Hakan Fidan have engaged in a telephonic conversation to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments of mutual interest.
According to Radio Pakistan, the two leaders reaffirmed their shared position on Palestine and expressed support for the joint statement by eight Arab-Islamic countries concerning the United Kingdom’s decision to ban imports from illegal Israeli settlements and restrict services linked to such settlements. They also backed the Joint Statement on the Two-State Solution by the UK and other European countries.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of maintaining close consultations on regional matters, including through the Regional Four (R4) framework with Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Both leaders agreed to meet on the sidelines of the forthcoming United Nations General Assembly session in New York.
