Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with Dr. Badr Abdelatty, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates of Egypt, in Islamabad to discuss the advancement of bilateral ties between Pakistan and Egypt.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting underscored the significance Pakistan places on its relations with Egypt, which are rooted in shared history and common faith. Both ministers reviewed various aspects of their bilateral relationship and expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved through recent high-level exchanges, including the Egyptian Foreign Minister’s visit to Pakistan in November 2025.

The discussions highlighted the need to enhance bilateral trade and investment, with both sides agreeing to activate mechanisms such as the Joint Ministerial Commission. The Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged Egypt’s support in the health sector, notably in combating hepatitis C, and appreciated the ongoing collaboration.

Defense and security cooperation between the two countries were also discussed, with both ministers agreeing to strengthen ties through training exchanges and other institutional mechanisms. They exchanged views on regional and international issues, emphasizing dialogue and diplomacy for resolving conflicts, particularly in the Middle East.

The Deputy Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s support for the Palestinian people and condemned Israeli actions in Gaza and the West Bank. He acknowledged Egypt’s role in providing humanitarian aid to Gaza, including support for Pakistan’s relief efforts. The meeting concluded with a commitment to continue coordination at multilateral forums like the United Nations and the OIC, reflecting the close relationship between Pakistan and Egypt.
