Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar Travels to Kyrgyz Republic for SCO Meeting

Cholpon-Ata: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has departed for Cholpon-Ata in the Kyrgyz Republic to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Council of Foreign Ministers’ Meeting. Following a visit to Manila, where he received hospitality from the Philippine Government and the ASEAN Regional Forum team, Dar is set to lead Pakistan’s delegation at the two-day event.

According to Radio Pakistan, all foreign ministers from the SCO member states, including China, Belarus, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, are expected to participate in the meeting. The Council of Foreign Ministers is the third highest forum in the SCO format and will address international relations and foreign and security policies.

Dar is scheduled to engage in bilateral meetings with counterparts from SCO member states on the sidelines of the meeting. Additionally, he is expected to meet with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic during his visit.
