Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar to Attend Key UN Security Council Debate in New York

BEIJING: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar is set to leave Beijing for a three-day visit to New York, where he will participate in significant discussions at the United Nations Security Council.

According to Radio Pakistan, Dar’s itinerary includes attending an open debate on “Maintenance of International Peace and Security: Upholding the Purposes and Principles of the UN Charter and Strengthening the UN-Centered International System.” This event, scheduled for tomorrow, has been organized by China under its current rotating presidency of the Security Council and will be chaired by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

On Thursday, Dar will also join a meeting of the Group of Friends on Global Governance. This meeting will focus on “Reforming and Improving Global Governance, Working Together to Address Global Challenges,” reflecting ongoing international efforts to enhance collaborative responses to global issues.
