Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has embarked on a visit to New York to participate in the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly. He will be in New York from September 21 to 25, accompanying Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Deputy Prime Minister’s schedule includes attending the meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Contact Group on Jammu & Kashmir, where he will reiterate Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination. He is also set to participate in several OIC Ministerial meetings, including the OIC Foreign Ministers’ Annual Coordination Meeting.

In addition, Senator Dar will engage in discussions on the Palestinian issue, attending meetings of the Group of Eight Arab Islamic countries and the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution. His agenda also features delivering a statement at the UN Security Council high-level briefing on Artificial Intelligence and participating in the High-Level Meeting on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness, and Response. Furthermore, he will chair the Meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Council of Ministers.

The Deputy Prime Minister is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with counterparts from various countries and will join the Prime Minister in high-level bilateral discussions. During these engagements, Senator Dar aims to underscore Pakistan’s contributions to regional and international peace and stability, while exchanging perspectives on major global challenges.
