New York: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has reiterated Pakistan’s support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination, expressing concern over ongoing violations at Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif and attempts to change the historical and legal status quo in Occupied East Jerusalem.

According to Radio Pakistan, Dar made these remarks while attending a Joint Arab League-Group of Four Islamic Countries’ Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem in New York. He emphasized Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Hashemite Custodianship over both Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

During the 81st UNGA in New York, Dar also engaged in discussions with Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ayman Safadi. The two leaders exchanged views on regional developments and mutual interests, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening ties between Pakistan and Jordan.
