Deputy Prime Minister Chairs Meeting to Review Tax Policy Reforms for Upcoming Budget


Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar presided over a meeting to scrutinize and evaluate tax policy proposals for the forthcoming budget. The session, as per the press release issued by Radio Pakistan, was convened to formulate recommendations and was attended by a committee dedicated to this purpose.



The committee’s focus was on measures to integrate the informal sector into the tax net and address existing deficiencies within the taxation system. It also considered the potential effects of these reforms on revenue generation, economic growth, and investment.



The committee instructed the Tax Policy Office to prioritize reforms that would enhance revenue collection while promoting growth and investment, ensuring no additional burden would be placed on compliant taxpayers.
