Deputy Prime Minister Attends UN Security Council Open Debate in New York

New York: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has arrived in New York on a three-day official visit to the United States, where he is set to participate in a high-level United Nations Security Council Open Debate.

According to Radio Pakistan, the debate is titled “Maintenance of International Peace and Security: Upholding the Purposes and Principles of the UN Charter and Strengthening the UN-centered International System” and is convened under China’s Presidency of the Security Council. In addition to attending the debate, the Deputy Prime Minister will hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts and senior UN officials. Upon his arrival, he was welcomed by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, and Consul General of Pakistan in New York, Aamer Ahmad Atozai.
