CTO Islamabad Directs Enhanced Traffic Management Amid Construction Work

Islamabad: Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Muhammad Sarfraz Virk has instructed his team to ensure the smooth flow of traffic on roads undergoing construction in the federal capital. This directive was issued during a meeting at the Traffic Police Headquarters in Faizabad, attended by senior traffic officials, including SP Traffic Majid Iqbal, zonal DSPs, and Muharrars.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, CTO Virk emphasized the need for effective traffic management on major highways currently under construction. He directed the deployment of additional police personnel on key roads such as Park Road to facilitate traffic flow. The CTO highlighted the importance of maintaining traffic flow and public facilitation during peak hours, along with a strict crackdown on illegal parking in commercial centers, shopping malls, and weekly bazaars.

Furthermore, CTO Virk outlined the need to protect citizens from accidents and uphold road discipline. He called for stricter enforcement of traffic laws and legal action against major violations, including no-parking zones, overspeeding, and encroachments. The Islamabad Traffic Police’s primary objective, he noted, is to ensure the safety and convenience of the city’s travelers.
