New Delhi, Opposition parties grilled Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indian Home Minister Amit Shah over the recent attacks in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), questioning their silence on the matter and drawing comparisons to the response following the Pulwama attack.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray criticized the Prime Minister’s handling of situations in Manipur and Kashmir. Thackeray stated, “If Modi can’t handle it, then he has no right to be the prime minister for a third term.”
In a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP over three attacks in IIOJK in as many days, Thackeray accused Modi of ignoring pressing issues to join victory celebrations. He claimed that the BJP’s declarations of the return of peace and normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir have been exposed by the recent terror attacks.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused Modi of celebrating his victory instead of addressing prevailing issues. In a post on his official handle on X, he wrote, “Narendra Modi is busy responding to congratulatory messages and cannot even hear the cries of the families of the devotees who were brutally killed in IIOJK.”
“There have been three separate incidents in Reasi, Kathua, and Doda in the last three days, but the Prime Minister is still busy celebrating… The country is demanding answers – why are those plotting terrorist attacks not caught under the BJP government?” he asked.
