Consulate General in Dubai Observes Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir Anniversary


Dubai: A ceremony to observe Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir was held at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai to mark the anniversary of India’s actions on August 5, 2019, which aimed to alter the internationally recognized disputed status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK). Members of the Pakistani and Kashmiri communities residing in the UAE attended the event.



According to Press Information Department, H.E. Hussain Muhammad, Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the day’s significance as a reminder of the struggles faced by the Kashmiri people. He paid tribute to their resilience and courage in the face of continued hardship. The Consul General highlighted August 5, 2019, as a turning point in the Jammu and Kashmir dispute and reiterated that unilateral actions by India cannot change the region’s internationally recognized status or undermine the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.



Mr. Hussain stated that Kashmir is not just a piece of land but represents the hopes and aspirations of millions. He affirmed that a resolution to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute requires adherence to international law and relevant UN Security Council resolutions. Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to the Kashmiri cause, he underscored the shared history and culture that bind Pakistan and the people of Kashmir.



The Consul General urged communities to raise awareness about the Kashmiri people’s plight and promote peace and justice. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to providing political, diplomatic, and moral support to the Kashmiri people. Messages from Pakistan’s leadership expressing solidarity with the Kashmiri people were read during the event, which also featured a photo exhibition and a documentary on the human rights situation in IIOJK.
