Islamabad: A solemn ceremony was held at the Police Lines Headquarters in Islamabad to honor the sacrifices of the police martyrs. The event was led by DIG Traffic/DG Safe City Muhammad Haroon Joya as the chief guest. According to Islamabad Capital Police, the ceremony was organized to pay tribute to the 70 martyrs of Islamabad Police. The chief guest laid a floral wreath at the martyrs’ memorial, offered prayers for the martyrs, and received a guard of honor from a police contingent.

The ceremony was attended by senior officers of Islamabad Police, families of the martyrs, representatives from the business community, and members of civil society. The chief guest, along with senior police officers, interacted with the families of the martyrs and acknowledged their sacrifices. Documentaries and videos highlighting the lives and services of the police martyrs were shown to the attendees.

DIG Traffic/DG Safe City Muhammad Haroon Joya, in his address, stated that the martyrs sacrificed their lives to protect the country and its people. He emphasized that their sacrifices would always be remembered. He further remarked that Youm-e-Shuhada Police serves as an occasion to honor the martyrs and renew the commitment to their mission. He reiterated that the martyrs’ sacrifices ensure a secure future for generations and that their legacy remains a source of pride.

Senior police officers also addressed the gathering, reaffirming the police’s commitment to supporting the martyrs’ families and recognizing the enduring impact of their sacrifices. They noted the 70 personnel who died in the line of duty and emphasized the police’s role as guardians of the martyrs’ children.

The officers highlighted that the sacrifices of the Islamabad Police martyrs have contributed to making the federal capital one of the safest cities in the world. The ceremony concluded with the chief guest meeting the children of the martyrs and distributing gifts among them.
