Islamabad, A significant step forward was taken in the development of Pakistan’s energy infrastructure with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) among key stakeholders for the consortium formation of the Machike-Thallian-Tarujabba White Oil Pipeline Project. The ceremony, hosted at the Special Investment Facilitation Council Secretariat, saw the participation of notable figures including the Caretaker Minister for Power and Petroleum, Muhammad Ali.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the MoU was signed by the heads of the consortium entities, including Syed Muhammad Taha, Managing Director of Pakistan State Oil, Major General Abdul Sami, Director General of Frontier Works Organization, and Nadeem Bajwa, Managing Director of Inter-state Gas Systems Pvt. Ltd. The project is set to complement the existing oil pipeline infrastructure, stretching from Karachi to Peshawar, by ensuring the efficient movement of petroleum products, preventing adulteration, and enhancing safety measures.

The pipeline, which will span 427 kilometers, aims to connect Punjab from Machike, near Lahore, to Tarujabba, near Peshawar, through three segments: Machike-Chakpirana, Chakpirana to Rawat, and Rawat to Tarujabba. This initiative is not only expected to complete the infrastructure supply chain from Karachi to Peshawar but also to significantly contribute to the reduction of traffic congestion, environmental pollution, and transportation costs.

The Machike-Thallian-Tarujabba White Oil Pipeline Project represents a major investment in the country’s energy sector, promising to enhance the reliability and safety of petroleum product transportation across the nation.
