LAHORE: On the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Eid Milad-un-Nabi was celebrated across the province with traditional zeal, devotion, and reverence. Lahore and cities and villages across Punjab were illuminated, creating a festive atmosphere as buildings glittered with colorful lights late into the night.

According to Chief Minister of Punjab, illuminated displays bearing the names of Allah Almighty and the Holy Prophet Muhammad were a prominent feature at Lahore’s Liberty Chowk Park during the celebrations. Neon signs decorated with colorful lights were installed at Liberty Chowk and green belts across the city. The celebrations extended to towns and villages across Punjab, with elaborate illuminations and decorations, and billboards carrying messages marking Eid Milad-un-Nabi were prominently displayed at major intersections and roads.

In her message on Eid Milad-un-Nabi, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif extended salutations and prayers upon the Holy Prophet Muhammad. She expressed gratitude for the blessed occasion marking his birth, paying tribute to him as the pride of all creation and the guide of the universe. She remarked on the great blessing and honor of the occasion for every Muslim, emphasizing the significance of the Holy Prophet’s birth as a blessing from Allah Almighty for humanity.

The chief minister highlighted the role of the Holy Prophet as a source of support for orphans and a mercy for both worlds, stating that he bestowed dignity and honor upon the weak in society. She noted that the oppressed, slaves, and daughters found the courage to live with dignity through his sacred arrival. The birth of the Holy Prophet, she said, shattered the idols of falsehood and illuminated hearts with the light of monotheism.

Maryam Nawaz concluded by stressing that following the Seerat-un-Nabi is a guarantee of success in this world and the Hereafter, and that acting upon it in its true spirit is the real requirement of love for the Holy Prophet.
