CM Emphasizes Quaid’s Vision of a Democratic and Law-Abiding Pakistan

Karachi, Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister Justice (Retd) Maqbool Baqar reflected on the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, emphasizing the need for a democratic, pluralistic, and secular Pakistan. His remarks were made during a visit to Mazar-e-Quaid to celebrate Jinnah’s birth anniversary, where he laid a floral wreath and offered fateha along with President Dr. Arif Alvi and Governor Sindh Kamran Tissori.

According to Chief Minister Sindh, Justice Baqar recorded his thoughts in the visitors’ book at Mazar-e-Quaid. He noted that Jinnah’s vision of a democratic and secular state is currently overshadowed by dogma, extremism, and radicalism. He urged a collective effort towards realizing a Pakistan that embodies the rule of law and allows individuals, regardless of religion, class, or gender, to reach their potential.

In addition to visiting Mazar-e-Quaid, the caretaker Chief Minister also celebrated Christmas with the Christian community. He visited St Patrick’s Cathedral in Saddar, where he met with Bishop Benny Mario Travas and participated in Christmas celebrations by cutting a cake. Furthermore, Justice Baqar visited Holy Trinity Cathedral, presented a bouquet to Reverend Frederick John, Bishop of Karachi, and marked Christmas Eve with another cake presentation.

These visits and the CM’s statements reflect a commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and just society in line with Quaid-e-Azam’s vision for Pakistan.
