Chennai, A constable of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) stationed in Tamil Nadu, India, tragically ended his own life by shooting himself with his service weapon during his security duty hours at Kamarajar Port in the Ennore area.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the deceased constable, identified as A Kumar, aged 38, had been a member of the CISF since 2009 and was assigned to the CISF unit at Kamarajar Port six months ago. The incident was discovered when a colleague on patrol found Kumar seated in his post with blood injuries on his head.
Following the discovery, Kumar was immediately transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The Minjur Police have initiated an investigation into the incident and have moved the constable’s body to a government hospital for postmortem.
The incident has raised concerns about the mental health and well-being of security personnel. Kumar’s death underscores the need for effective support systems for members of the security forces who may be struggling with personal or professional challenges.
