Chief Minister Naqvi Leads Divisional Meetings for Secure Elections in Punjab

Lahore, In preparation for the upcoming general elections, Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi chaired a pivotal divisional meeting at the Commissioner’s Office in DG Khan. The meeting focused on ensuring fair, free, and secure elections in a peaceful environment across the province.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the meeting, led by Chief Minister Naqvi, involved an extensive review of the arrangements for the forthcoming general elections and the implementation of a comprehensive security plan. The Provincial Election Commissioner participated in this crucial session via video link.

Emphasizing the need for foolproof security arrangements, Chief Minister Naqvi affirmed the citizens’ right to vote in a tranquil and secure environment. He called for meticulous planning and execution to ensure the secure delivery of election materials. Naqvi directed Inspector General of Police Dr. Usman Anwar to promptly finalize comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to this end.

Chief Minister Naqvi also underscored the importance of adhering to the Election Commission’s code of conduct, stating that all political parties and independent candidates have the right to conduct their election campaigns without interference. He stressed the significance of maintaining a conducive atmosphere for political activities, ensuring a level playing field for all participants.

The meeting was attended by high-ranking officials, including the Chief Secretary, Commissioner of Dera Ghazi Khan, RPO, Deputy Commissioner, DPO, concerned secretaries, and senior officials, highlighting the collective effort to oversee the execution of these plans.
