Phnom Penh: Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, led a delegation for a courtesy call on King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia in Phnom Penh, as part of the 2nd Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC).

According to Press Information Department, Chairman Gilani expressed gratitude for the hospitality extended by King Sihamoni and commended Cambodia on the successful hosting of the conference. The event in Phnom Penh brought together parliamentary leaders from around the globe, underscoring a collective commitment to dialogue, peace, and cooperation.

Chairman Gilani emphasized the significance of the journey from Islamabad to Phnom Penh as a reflection of growing trust and shared objectives. He acknowledged Cambodia’s achievements in peace, reconciliation, and national unity as a model for others. In a world beset by conflicts and economic hurdles, he highlighted the role of parliaments in maintaining dialogue and fostering international relations.

The Chairman also announced that Indonesia will host the 3rd ISC, expressing optimism for continued collaboration. He concluded by wishing King Sihamoni good health and prosperity for Cambodia, celebrating the enduring friendship between nations.
