Islamabad: Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, in a special message on Youm-e-Istehsal, reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, condemning India’s actions of August 5, 2019, as violations of international law and human rights.
According to Press Information Department, Gilani emphasized that Youm-e-Istehsal highlights the ongoing suffering and resilience of the Kashmiri people and urges the international community to recognize the injustices occurring in the region. He stated that India has intensified efforts to change the demographic composition of the area, suppress political leadership, and violate human rights since 2019.
Gilani reiterated Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and called for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute in line with United Nations Security Council resolutions. He urged the international community and global human rights organizations to address the violations in Jammu and Kashmir and ensure India’s compliance with international law.
The Chairman Senate assured that Pakistan will continue to support the Kashmiri people’s legitimate struggle for self-determination and called for international efforts to achieve a just resolution for peace and security in South Asia.
