Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has extended congratulatory messages to President Vladimir Putin and the people of Russia in honor of Victory Day.
According to Press Information Department, the message, sent on behalf of the Government and the people of Pakistan, emphasized the importance of the victory in the Great Patriotic War as a significant reminder of the sacrifices made by the Russian people. President Zardari highlighted this historic victory as a testament to the resilience, courage, and determination of the Russian nation and its contribution to global peace and stability.
President Zardari affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to its relationship with the Russian Federation, emphasizing a mutual dedication to a just, peaceful, and rules-based international order. He also honored the memory of those who perished in the fight against Nazism, including soldiers from the Indus Valley who served with the Allied forces.
The President expressed optimism that the spirit of this historic victory would foster greater cooperation and friendship between Pakistan and Russia.
