Islamabad: A delegation from the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce & Industry met with Rashid Mahmood Langrial, Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue, to discuss the challenges faced by the local business community. During the meeting, the delegation, led by President Muhammad Ali Hamayoun Butt, highlighted issues related to tax refunds, super tax installments, and operational difficulties.
According to Federal Board of Revenue, senior FBR officers, including Member (IR-Operations), Member (IR-Policy), and Member (Customs-Policy), participated in the meeting. The Chairman informed the delegation that tax policy formulation has been shifted to the Ministry of Finance, while the FBR’s role remains focused on tax administration implementation.
The Chairman assured the delegation that the concerns raised would be reviewed, with relevant FBR wings directed to address the issues promptly. He emphasized that legitimate tax refunds will be issued upon completion of necessary processes and that all legally due taxes will be enforced according to the law.
Additionally, the Chairman assured that no FBR official would create undue difficulties for taxpayers, and urged the business community to report any corrupt practices within the FBR, promising strict action against those involved. The delegation included senior GCCI members, highlighting the importance of the meeting for the business community.
