Islamabad, July 26, 2021 (PPI-OT):Honourable Mr. Justice Javed Iqbal, Chairman NAB chaired a meeting to review the latest performance of NAB Karachi under dynamic leadership of Honourable Mr. Justice Javed Iqbal, Chairman NAB from 11th October, 2017 till to date at NAB Headquarter. Hussain Asghar, Deputy Chairman NAB, Zahir Shah, DG Operations NAB, and other senior officers of NAB were present at the meeting, Dr. Najaf Quli Mirza, DG NAB Karachi also participated in the meeting through video link.
During the meeting Dr. Najaf Quli Mirza, DG NAB Karachi informed that under dynamic leadership of Honourable Mr. Justice Javed Iqbal, Chairman NAB from 11th October, 2017 till to date NAB Karachi received 36,940 complaints out of which 36,368 complains were disposed of during the said period.
DG NAB Karachi also informed the meeting that from 11th October, 2017 till to date NAB Karachi authorized 1182 Complaint Verifications (CVs), out of which 1008 Complaint Verifications, were completed by the Bureau while 232 Complaint Verifications are under process at present.
DG NAB Karachi further informed the meeting that from 11th October, 2017 till to date NAB Karachi authorized 481 Inquiries, out of which 322 Inquiries were completed by NAB Karachi while 320 Inquiries are under process at present.
He further informed that from 11th October, 2017 till to date NAB Karachi authorized 153 Investigations and completed 172 Investigations while 102 Investigations are under process at present in the Bureau.
Dr. Najaf Quli Mirza, DG NAB Karachi informed the meeting that from 11th October, 2017 till to date NAB Karachi filed 107 References in various Learned Accountability Courts, while 262 references are under trial at various respected Accountability Courts.
DG NAB Karachi also informed that during the said period 219 accused persons were convicted by the Learned Accountability Courts under section 10 of NAO-1999, while 215 accused persons were convicted by the Accountability Courts under section 25 (B) of NAO-1999.
Dr. Najaf Quli Mirza, DG NAB Karachi further informed that under the dynamic leadership of Honourable Mr. Justice Javed Iqbal, Chairman NAB from 11th October 2017 till to date NAB Karachi recovered Rs. 8.14831 billion through direct recovery while NAB Karachi recovered Rs. 324.174 billion through indirect recovery.
The Honourable Mr. Justice Javed Iqbal, Chairman NAB said that eradication of corruption is the top most Priority of NAB. NAB officers are performing their duties considering it as their national duty. He said that NAB Karachi has always played an excellent role in contributing towards the overall performance of NAB.
The Honourable Mr. Justice Javed Iqbal, Chairman NAB appreciated the performance of NAB Karachi under the supervision of, Dr. Najaf Quli Mirza, DG NAB Karachi and hoped that NAB Karachi will continue to perform its responsibilities with the same commitment and dedication as per law in future. He said that NAB is committed to the logical conclusion of mega corruption cases in order to recover looted money from big fish and bring them to justice as per law. He said that NAB is a human friendly organization which always believes in ensuring self-respect of every person as per law.
