Lahore: Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Mr. Rashid Mahmood Langrial, convened with a delegation from the Tax Bar Association at the Large Taxpayers Office (LTO) in Lahore, aiming to advance initiatives aligned with directives from the Prime Minister. The focus of the meeting was to facilitate taxpayers and tax practitioners by resolving issues promptly and enhancing the tax administration system.

According to Press Information Department, the meeting was attended by Member (Inland Revenue Operations), senior FBR officers, and representatives from the Tax Bar Association. Discussions covered various topics, including income tax returns, sales tax, and the tax filing and administration processes. Mr. Langrial assured the delegation of the FBR’s ongoing support, instructing relevant officers to address the raised issues in compliance with existing laws and procedures. He also endorsed the proposal for establishing a PRAL liaison office in Lahore to better assist taxpayers and tax practitioners.

The Chairman addressed concerns regarding jurisdiction and case transfers between RTO-I and RTO-II, directing officers to examine and resolve these matters. Additionally, discussions included the Small Traders Scheme and strategies to enhance income tax revenue.

Mr. Langrial acknowledged the constructive feedback from the Tax Bar Association, urging officers to prioritize solving technical issues within the FBR system to ensure an efficient tax filing process. He reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining engagement with stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of their feedback in refining tax administration and supporting compliant taxpayers.
