Islamabad, April 29, 2022 (PPI-OT):The management of Capital Development Authority is making effective plans to meet the water shortage in Islamabad city to ensure uninterrupted supply of water to the citizens during summer. In this regard, the Water Supply Department of the CDA has taken special interest of the existing CDA management in the Sangjani area for water plants which were inactive for a long time and their spare parts were damaged due to which water was facing difficulties. Due to which new and modern spare parts have been installed to reactivate them.
Similarly, old batteries including DC system, filtration system, water pumps, motors and internal supply lines have also been replaced in these installations. According to the details, repair and replacement of spare parts of Sangjani Water Networks cost Rs. 105.27 million last year.
In addition, defects in the Sangjani water network, including leaks, which are causing water loss, have been overcome, which has increased the water pressure by adding to the water network, and eight to ten gallons per day. Millions of water have also been saved.
Similarly, spare parts of old and faulty motors in water installations have been replaced with spare parts equipped with modern technology which has enhanced the efficiency of water supply wing. By making it functional, water supply in the twin cities continues as per schedule.
In addition, these measures have not only increased energy savings and significantly reduced costs, but also increased the efficiency of the water supply wing. Similarly, Rs.500 million was also paid in advance to the Water Supply Wing last year for payment of electricity dues including maintenance of smooth operation.
Similarly, a budget of Rs. 50 million has also been sanctioned this year for the Water Supply Wing to provide machinery with modern technology, repair and purchase of spare parts, provision of unused water recycling systems and other facilities. Similarly, funds will soon be sanctioned by the CDA administration for the installation of modern flow meters in water installations so that the citizens of Islamabad do not face water crisis.
