CDA Commits to Enhancing Islamabad’s Infrastructure and Service Delivery

Islamabad: In a significant move to upgrade the city’s infrastructure, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has outlined a series of initiatives aimed at improving Islamabad’s sector development, revenue generation, and overall urban management. The initiatives were detailed in a recent meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa.

According to Capital Development Authority, the meeting was attended by CDA Board members, the Administrator of the Municipal Corporation Islamabad (MCI), and other key officials. Member Finance presented a comprehensive briefing on the fiscal health of the CDA, highlighting ongoing efforts to enhance revenue. A key decision from the meeting was the introduction of weekly reports on revenue targets and outcomes to foster greater transparency and accountability within the authority.

Chairman Randhawa underscored the importance of continual oversight and rapid decision-making by instituting regular weekly board meetings. Discussions during the meeting also focused on several major development projects, including the computerization of land records, the launch of a smart application for essential services, and the beautification of key city areas such as the Diplomatic Enclave and various parks. Additionally, the development of the Serena Chowk underpass and enhancements to road infrastructure were reviewed.

To further improve monitoring and efficiency of ongoing projects, Randhawa directed that drone cameras be provided to various CDA departments including Estates, Building Control, Engineering, Environment, and DMA. This technological integration is expected to aid in the precise and efficient management of development activities across the city.

The session concluded with a strong affirmation of CDA’s commitment to transforming Islamabad into a more structured, accessible, and aesthetically pleasing capital, ensuring sustainable urban growth and enhanced quality of life for its residents.
