Islamabad: The Cabinet Committee on Disposal of Legislative Cases (CCLC), chaired by Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, has approved several draft amendments to significant legislative frameworks, including the Pakistan Oil Refining, Blending, Transportation, Storage and Marketing Rules, 2016, and Section 30 of the OGRA Ordinance, 2002. The committee also endorsed a proposal to upgrade the Pakistan Marine Academy to a degree-awarding institution and reviewed a host of other legislative proposals.

According to Press Information Department, the meeting was conducted at the Cabinet Division on Tuesday, where various legal and administrative issues were thoroughly examined. Attendees included representatives from relevant ministries, departments, and divisions. Among the approvals, the CCLC gave a nod to the creation of a Member Law position in the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) as part of the amendment to Section 30 of its ordinance.

Additionally, the committee approved amendments to the Federal Public Service Commission Ordinance, 1977, and the proposal for the Pakistan Marine Academy’s upgrade to the Pakistan Marine Institute, Karachi. A draft bill proposing the repeal of the National Institute of Electronics Ordinance, 1979, was also sanctioned. Furthermore, the Federal Flood Commission Re-establishment, Restructuring and Reforms Bill, 2026, received the committee’s endorsement.

A draft amendment concerning the rules of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) was presented but deferred for consideration in the committee’s subsequent meeting.
