Islamabad, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar had a telephonic conversation with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas today, focusing on the ongoing situation in Palestine, specifically addressing the acts by Israeli occupation forces against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.
According to a news release by Press Information Department, The Prime Minister conveyed Pakistan’s condemnation of the Israeli forces’ actions, pointing out the bombing of Al-Ahli hospital and the resulting casualties. Both leaders called upon the international community to encourage Israel to stop the violence. They stressed the importance of ending the Gaza blockade to ensure the delivery of essential humanitarian aid and medical support. Pakistan’s initial humanitarian aid for the Palestinians has already been delivered in Egypt. The Prime Minister emphasized the role of international entities, especially the United Nations, in resolving this situation, advocating for justice, humanity, and adherence to international law. The Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to a just resolution of the Palestinian conflict, supporting a “two-state” solution with a sovereign Palestinian state having East Jerusalem as its capital and borders predating 1967. President Mahmoud Abbas expressed his gratitude to Pakistan for its consistent and continued support to the Palestinian cause.
