BSF Soldier from Jammu and Kashmir Drowns in West Bengal River


Kolkata, A tragic incident occurred in West Bengal, India, where Reyaz Ahmad Rather, a soldier from the Border Security Forces (BSF) originally from Kupwara district in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, drowned in a river. The unfortunate event took place during a boat patrolling mission when the boat capsized due to strong winds, leading to Rather’s untimely demise.



According to Kashmir Media Service, Reyaz Ahmad, hailing from the Lolab area of Kupwara, was stationed in West Bengal as part of his service with the BSF. The incident occurred when the boat he was in encountered adverse weather conditions, resulting in it overturning and causing him to drown.



The loss of Reyaz Ahmad Rather has cast a pall of grief over his family and colleagues.
