Manila: Britain has commended Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to facilitate dialogue and reduce tensions amid the recent US-Iran conflicts. This acknowledgment was expressed during a meeting between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Edward Miliband, the United Kingdom’s Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, held on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum 2026.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Deputy Prime Minister congratulated Miliband on his new appointment as the British Foreign Secretary and extended his best wishes for success in the position. The discussion between the two leaders highlighted their mutual commitment to enhancing the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

During the meeting, Miliband also recognized the significant contributions of the Pakistani diaspora in the UK and its role in bolstering bilateral relations. The dialogue further encompassed a range of regional and international developments, with both leaders expressing concern over recent escalations in the region. They emphasized the necessity for ongoing dialogue, diplomacy, and persistent efforts to achieve enduring peace and stability.
