BJP Candidate Pretends to Shoot Arrow at Mosque in Hyderabad, Stoking Anti-Muslim Hatred


Hyderabad, In a disturbing display of anti-Muslim sentiment, Madhavi Latha, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat, was seen miming shooting an arrow at a mosque during a rally. The incident has drawn widespread criticism and raised concerns about rising communal tensions in India.



According to Kashmir Media Service, a video circulating on the internet shows Madhavi Latha pretending to shoot an arrow at a mosque in Hyderabad, igniting outrage among local Muslim leaders and activists. The video has been interpreted as a deliberate provocation and a blatant expression of religious intolerance.



Asaduddin Owaisi, leader of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen and the Hyderabad Member of Parliament (MP), condemned the video, stating that the BJP is attempting to disrupt peace and harmony in the city. He described the mimed shooting as not only targeting the mosque but also the peace and tranquility of Hyderabad.



Addressing a public meeting in Hyderabad, Owaisi highlighted that the BJP’s actions are designed to weaken relations between Hindu and Muslim communities and to incite communal violence. He said, “It was done to foment riots in Hyderabad,” suggesting that the BJP’s intention is to create chaos and division.



Owaisi urged the people of Hyderabad to be cautious and to vote wisely, indicating that the BJP’s anti-Muslim rhetoric must be countered through democratic means. He also called on voters to oppose the implementation of the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act, which has been criticized for its discriminatory approach towards Muslims.



This incident is the latest in a series of actions by the BJP and its candidates that have raised concerns about the rise of religious extremism and intolerance in India. The video and the subsequent reaction demonstrate the ongoing struggle to maintain communal harmony in the face of escalating anti-Muslim sentiment.
