Baramulla Residents Protest to Demand Restoration of Water Supply

Srinagar: In a significant demonstration of public grievance, residents of Kreeri-Wagoora in the Baramulla district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have blocked roads, demanding the immediate restoration of their water supply.

According to Kashmir Media Service, The protest led to a complete shutdown of the local Wagoora market, reflecting widespread community frustration over a persistent water shortage. The area has been experiencing severe water scarcity for approximately 10-15 days, with no visible response from the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department. Residents have reported that no official has visited to assess the situation or communicate any plans to resolve the issue.

The community has issued a call for urgent action from local authorities, warning that the situation could worsen if the water supply is not promptly restored. This incident not only highlights the challenges in water resource management but also raises significant concerns about government responsiveness and human rights in the region.
