Balochistan Elects Seven Senators Unopposed, Islamabad


Islamabad, In a significant political development, the Election Commission of Pakistan has confirmed the unopposed election of seven Senators from Balochistan, marking a notable moment in the province’s legislative dynamics. The election process, devoid of contest, brought a diverse group of representatives to the Senate on general seats.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Senators-elect from Balochistan include Ahmed Khan, Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, Aimal Wali Khan, Jan Muhammad, Sardar Muhammad Umer Gorgaij, Syedaal Khan, and Shahzeb Durrani. Their election expands the representation of various political and social segments within the legislative body.



Additionally, the Provincial Election Commissioner Balochistan, Muhammad Farid Afridi, announced the unopposed election of two candidates on the technocrat including Ulema seat, identifying them as Bilal Ahmed Khan and Maulana Abdul Wasay. This election emphasizes the inclusive approach towards accommodating different spheres of expertise and religious scholarship in the Senate’s composition.
