Azerbaijan Praises Pakistan’s Role in Iran-U.S. Ceasefire Efforts

Islamabad: Azerbaijan has expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s efforts in facilitating a ceasefire between Iran and the United States. This commendation was shared in a phone conversation between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev, emphasizing the international community’s trust in Pakistan’s leadership.

According to Radio Pakistan, the two leaders discussed regional developments, particularly peace initiatives in the Middle East, and expressed satisfaction with their countries’ bilateral relations. Prime Minister Sharif conveyed well wishes for the upcoming World Urban Forum in Baku, expressing confidence in Azerbaijan’s ability to advance global urban development despite his inability to attend.

The conversation also covered commitments to deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment, and energy. Both leaders agreed to maintain close contact, anticipate a future meeting, and reaffirmed their strong bilateral ties. Prime Minister Sharif extended an invitation for President Aliyev to visit Pakistan officially.
