Awais Leghari and Sam Waldock Discuss Bilateral Cooperation and Regional Stability

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Power, Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, assured that the Government of Pakistan would extend full facilitation to improve the investment climate and advance shared economic priorities during a meeting with Development Director at the British High Commission, Sam Waldock. The discussions, held in Islamabad, centered on bilateral cooperation and the geo-strategic situation in the region.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Federal Minister expressed appreciation for the United Kingdom’s recognition of Pakistan’s role in facilitating a ceasefire between the United States and Iran and hosting peace negotiations. He noted that this acknowledgment reflects positively on Pakistan’s efforts for regional peace and stability.

Sam Waldock commended the Government of Pakistan’s approach and response to the Iran-US tensions, highlighting Pakistan’s resilience and sound judgment in maintaining stability across key sectors. He emphasized the United Kingdom’s commitment to supporting macroeconomic stability in Pakistan.

Leghari thanked Waldock for the continued cooperation, describing it as an important component of the bilateral partnership. Investment-related matters were also discussed during the meeting.
