Islamabad: Pakistan’s Minister for Finance and Revenue, Muhammad Aurangzeb, will represent Pakistan at the annual AlUla Conference for Emerging Market Economies, which begins tomorrow in AlUla, Saudi Arabia. He is attending upon the special invitation of Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed Al-Jadaan.
According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the conference is organized in collaboration with the International Monetary Fund and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Finance. The two-day event will include 200 participants and 36 speakers representing 48 countries.
Aurangzeb’s participation is a recognition of the policy measures that have contributed to stability and positive economic changes in Pakistan. He will join a high-level panel discussion on “The Path to Emerging Markets,” moderated by IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva.
The conference aims to gather finance ministers, central bank governors, policymakers, academics, international organization experts, and private sector representatives. It will address building resilience in emerging markets and developing economies amidst global economic challenges and risks.
