Srinagar, The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has raised serious concerns regarding the escalation of what it terms as ‘Indian state terrorism’ in the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to Kashmir Media Service, an APHC spokesman in Srinagar expressed that since 1947, India has been employing military force in an attempt to suppress the freedom sentiments of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Despite these efforts, the spokesman stated that India has failed to achieve its objectives.
The spokesman criticized the Indian government for transforming the occupied territory into a heavily militarized zone, alleging large-scale human rights violations and war crimes by Indian troops. He accused the BJP-led Indian government, following the ideology of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, of depriving Kashmiri people of their basic rights.
The APHC spokesman further declared that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have consistently rejected India’s occupation and its unilateral actions, particularly those taken on August 5, 2019. He emphasized the Kashmiris’ ongoing resistance against Indian rule and their continued struggle for self-determination, a fight that has been ongoing for over seven decades.
The statement also mentioned the alleged incarceration of the Hurriyat leadership by Indian authorities and the detention of thousands of Kashmiris under what he termed as ‘black laws,’ including the Public Safety Act (PSA).
The APHC has appealed to international organizations like the United Nations, Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and European Union to take notice of the situation in IIOJK. The spokesman called for the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions to resolve the Kashmir dispute, which he believes is essential for ensuring lasting peace in South Asia.
