APHC Condemns Killings by Indian Troops in IIOJK, Calls for UN Intervention

Karachi: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has raised serious concerns over the recent killings of eight individuals by Indian troops in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The APHC condemned these actions as part of what they describe as a slow genocide under the Indian government’s plan.

According to the Kashmir Media Service, the APHC spokesman, in a statement from Srinagar, criticized the actions of the Indian troops, accusing them of creating a climate of terror across the occupied territory. The spokesman specifically mentioned the killings in fake encounters in the Baramulla, Kulgam, and Rajouri areas over the past three days, claiming these incidents as evidence of the endangerment of Kashmiri lives by Indian forces.

The APHC statement highlighted the role of Narendra Modi’s government and the Hindutva-dominated military establishment in these actions, accusing them of carrying out extrajudicial killings, arrests, and torture of Kashmiri people. The spokesman cited the draconian laws that shield the Indian troops, facilitating what they termed as merciless actions against the Kashmiri population.

The APHC also targeted RR Swain, the Director General of Police in occupied Kashmir, accusing him of intensifying the crackdown on Kashmiris and promoting the RSS’s agenda of altering the region’s demography. The spokesman alleged that Swain’s actions since taking charge have led to increased extrajudicial killings and massive arrests during house raids.

Paying tribute to those who have lost their lives, the APHC spokesman stated that their sacrifices would not be in vain and expressed determination towards the Kashmiris’ quest for freedom from Indian control. The statement also condemned the continued house detention of senior APHC leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and the ban on Friday prayers at the historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar.

Finally, the APHC spokesman called on the United Nations to intervene, urging it to take steps to stop what they labeled as Indian state terrorism in occupied Kashmir and to play a role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
