APHC Accuses Indian Troops of Atrocities in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has accused Indian troops of committing severe atrocities against the unarmed population of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC spokesman, in a statement from Srinagar, condemned the actions of Indian forces, stating that despite the use of brutal tactics, India has been unsuccessful in quelling the freedom sentiment among Kashmiris. The spokesman reported that Indian troops are conducting frequent cordon and search operations, subjecting residents, including women and children, to stand in the cold for extended periods and facing harassment.

The spokesman also voiced concern over the condition of Kashmiris detained in various jails, urging international human rights organizations to intervene and pressure India for their immediate release. He emphasized that the Kashmir dispute is a reality that India cannot ignore and that lasting peace in South Asia hinges on resolving this dispute in line with Kashmiris’ aspirations and UN resolutions.

The APHC highlighted Pakistan’s stance on resolving the Kashmir issue through peaceful means and criticized India’s reluctance as a major barrier to achieving this goal. The organization called for India to engage in meaningful dialogue with Pakistan and the Kashmiris to definitively settle the dispute.
