Islamabad: A concerted effort to undermine Pakistan through an anti-Pakistan information campaign originating from outside the country has been identified, according to the Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar. This campaign, which has been observed over the past few days, seeks to sow confusion and disseminate misinformation, allegedly quoting unnamed sources and officials.

According to Radio Pakistan, Minister Tarar expressed these concerns in a post on X, where he described the campaign as an unprofessional attempt to discredit Pakistan’s contributions to promoting sustainable peace in the region. He suggested that such actions are indicative of the frustration felt by those opposed to peace.

Minister Tarar highlighted that credible domestic media sources and various fact-check forums have already debunked the propaganda, emphasizing that certain elements, particularly those opposed to peace, are behind these stories. He pointed out that these detractors are struggling to accept Pakistan’s ongoing success in fighting foreign-sponsored terrorism and its efforts to resolve disputes and maintain regional peace.

The Minister further asserted that Pakistan, alongside its responsible media, will continue to expose the malicious intentions behind this coordinated campaign. He praised the efforts of Pakistani media and influencers in revealing the true nature of this campaign, commending their role in countering the misinformation being spread.
