LAHORE: The anti-corruption initiative in Punjab has intensified, resulting in the arrest of nine government employees and three alleged frontmen in various operations across the province. Acting on orders from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) executed multiple raids aimed at officials accused of bribery.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the ACE conducted raids and trap operations in several districts. In Bahawalnagar, Faisal Shiraz, an office clerk, was apprehended while allegedly receiving a bribe. Mehran Hussain, a former naib qasid in the same district, was also captured during a trap raid.

Further operations in Vehari resulted in the arrest of Excise Department official Tahir Bhatti. In Dera Ghazi Khan, a computer operator at Allama Iqbal Teaching Hospital, identified as Sajid, was arrested under similar circumstances. Mandi Bahauddin witnessed the arrest of Mohsin Shah, a naib qasid from the Local Government Department.

In Jhang, tehsil office reader Mohammad Saleem faced arrest for alleged bribery. Muzaffargarh operations led to the detention of two alleged frontmen, Mohammad Yasir and Abdullah. Lahore saw the arrest of Mubeen Akhtar, a patwari’s munshi, and Majid, a frontman for a patwari named Tariq.

Chakwal operations concluded with the arrest of Paraforce sergeant Asif Kamal and naib qasid Talal Hussain, both allegedly caught accepting bribes.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized the commitment to eradicating corruption, instructing authorities to persist in their actions against corrupt practices in government institutions across Punjab.
