Amir Muqam Criticizes PTI’s Focus on Protests Over Governance

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Amir Muqam, has expressed regret over the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s strategy centered on protests, particularly the long march spearheaded by the party.

According to Radio Pakistan, Muqam, speaking at a news conference, criticized the use of official resources, including helicopters, for the PTI-led protest activities, arguing that they are unproductive. He voiced concerns that the PTI provincial government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is prioritizing protest politics over the welfare and security of its citizens.

Highlighting the challenges faced by the region, Muqam noted that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are already under the significant threat of terrorism, with security forces making sacrifices in the ongoing fight against it. He further accused the PTI government in the province of failing to denounce terrorist activities, suggesting this indicates a leniency towards such elements.
