AJK President Receives Annual Audit Report, Calls for Transparency


Islamabad, The President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, was presented with the annual audit report for the fiscal year 2023-24, emphasizing the need for a clean and transparent audit system in the region. This significant event took place at the Kashmir House in Islamabad, underlining the government’s commitment to accountability and fiscal responsibility.



According to President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s office, the report, as mandated by Article 50A (6) of the Constitution of 1974, was delivered by the Director General Audit Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Asif Zeb, who also provided a detailed briefing on the annual performance of the territory for the financial year 2023-24. During this session, President Chaudhry directed the Director General Audit to enhance the audit system’s transparency and efficiency in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.



The meeting between President Chaudhry and Director General Audit Zeb also covered mutual interest topics and other matters, signifying a collaborative approach towards governance and administration in the region. The emphasis on improving the audit system reflects the administration’s dedication to ensuring good governance and accountability in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
