Islamabad: In a significant development within the Islamabad Police Department, 86 officers have been promoted to higher ranks. The promotions, approved by Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, include 49 Constables advancing to Head Constables, 18 Head Constables elevated to Assistant Sub-Inspectors, and 16 Assistant Sub-Inspectors promoted to Sub-Inspectors.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the promotion process was overseen by the departmental promotion committee, which convened to assess vacant positions and ensure that the promotions were conducted with merit and transparency. The committee meticulously reviewed the records of eligible officers, recommending those with commendable records for advancement.

IGP Rizvi emphasized that these promotions signify increased responsibilities and trust within the department. He highlighted that while promotion is a fundamental right of every officer, it also comes with heightened expectations for performance and dedication. He urged the newly promoted officers to uphold the department’s honor with diligence and integrity, drawing inspiration from the legacy of the martyrs and veterans.

The Inspector General also reiterated his commitment to the welfare of the police force, stating that all officers who complete the necessary promotion courses will be elevated based on merit and seniority until all vacant positions are filled.
