79% of Pakistanis Believe Personal Actions Can Improve Environment, Survey Finds

Islamabad: A recent survey has revealed that 79% of Pakistanis believe their individual actions can make a positive impact on the environment, slightly above the global average of 77%. According to the WIN Worldviews Survey 2026, conducted by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, women in Pakistan are marginally more inclined than men to hold this belief.

Globally, the survey found that 77% of people think their actions can improve the environment, with 33% totally agreeing and 44% somewhat agreeing. In Pakistan, 79% of respondents concurred, including 30% who totally agreed and 49% who somewhat agreed. A closer examination of the Pakistani data shows that 80% of women and 77% of men believe in the effectiveness of their personal environmental actions.

The international context places Pakistan’s agreement rate at 79%, positioning it above several countries, including Canada and Germany, but below nations like Colombia and India. The survey, encompassing approximately 45,000 interviews across 45 countries, was conducted by the Gilani Research Foundation and included 1,000 participants from various regions in Pakistan. The findings highlight a widespread belief among Pakistanis in the importance of individual environmental responsibility, even amidst broader concerns about climate change.
