Srinagar: Indian police have arrested a youth in the Bandipora district of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir for allegedly uploading images of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and other Hurriyat leaders on social media.
The individual, identified as Sajad Naseer Butt, was detained following a police raid on his residence in Naidkhai Sumbal. The arrest was reported by Kashmir Media Service, a local news agency.
Authorities have registered a case at the Police Station Sumbal, with investigations said to be ongoing. The arrest is part of broader law enforcement activities in the region, where sharing politically sensitive content on social media has drawn increased scrutiny from authorities.
