Islamabad: Pakistan Navy Ship ASLAT has undertaken counter-piracy patrols in the Arabian Sea, off the east coast of Somalia, as part of its support for the Pakistan Navy-led Combined Task Force 151 (CTF-151). The task force is actively enhancing its presence in the region to address the threat of piracy.

The Combined Task Force 151, under the leadership of the Pakistan Navy, is committed to maintaining vigilance in the Gulf of Aden, near the Socotra Gap, and along the east coast of Somalia. The aim is to deter piracy, armed robbery, and other illegal activities, thereby ensuring the safety of critical Sea Lines of Communication (SLOCs).

The deployment of PNS ASLAT signifies the Pakistan Navy’s determination to tackle piracy and armed robbery. It also underscores its role in safeguarding global maritime commons and ensuring the uninterrupted flow of maritime trade in the area.
